Snake Farm will definitely impress your kids. This place is run by the Thai Red Cross and is used for making antidotes for snake bites. There is an educational and highly entertaining show. You will see both venomous and non venomous snakes on display. This is one of the most interesting things to do in Bangkok with kids.
Lumphini Park is very close to the Snake farm and a great place for relaxing with the family. There is a lake with paddleboats available for rent. Join in with the locals doing aerobics or tai chi. You may catch a glimpse of a monitor lizard or turtle. Great place for small children.
Safari world There are lots of animal shows including an orangutan boxing show. There is also a bird aviary and jungle walk.
Chao Phraya river runs through Bangkok and can be used to visit several attractions including the Grand Palace via the water taxi or longtails.lots of interesting sites along the way including houses on stilts, and locals swimming and fishing in the river.
Siam Niramit Thai show featuring 150 performers and 500 costumes. It is a spectacular performance held in the evenings at 8pm and runs until 9:30 so it is better suited for older kids. optional buffet dinner.
Dusit Zoo. quite a selection of animals. even chance to feed the elephants. small lake with paddle boats and a children`s play area. entrance fee is quite cheap. one of the best things to do in Bangkok with small children.
Dreamworld amusement park is a fun way to spend an afternoon with the kids. There are lots of fun rides including a log ride, space mountain knock off, bumper cars and haunted house. There are lots of games to play and don`t miss out on the 4D movie!

Bangkok Butterfly Garden & Insectarium enter the huge and lofty enclosure with rockeries, shady ferns, wild flowers and a cooling waterfall - the insects' natural habitat. Within, many species of rare and beautiful winged creatures hide out. Over 500 butterflies grace the dome at any given moment. . Upon entering Chatuchack Park subway station, cross Chatuchack Park and turn right, pass the front of the market and turn left at Kampaengphet IV Road. In between Queen Sirikit Gardens and Rotfai Gardens lies the quiet enclosed sanctuary of the Bangkok Butterfly Garden and Insectarium.
Queen Sirikit Gardens, near the Children's Discovery Museum, is a magnificent botanical garden with brightly coloured flower beds and old shady trees, all labeled in English, Thai and Latin. Meadows of wild flowers and immaculate landscape gardens with canopied benches, ponds and mazes all lend it a feeling of Alice in Wonderland. This can be an enchanting day of butterfly spotting, picnicking or bicycling through the expansive and picturesque gardens. Old fashioned bicycles can be rented for around 30 baht. You could literally get lost in here, so be sure to bring a bottle of drinking water and a hat. 8:30 - 16:30 (Closed on Mondays)
HUA HIN AND CHA AM
Kids will enjoy a visit to Monkey Mountain, 6 km south of Hua Hin (take a tuk tuk), where they can feed bananas to the resident population of monkeys. Great views and a popular temple.

Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park located 40km south of Hua Hin, makes a great day trip. The reserve features towering limestone cliffs, caves, beaches and an abundance of wildlife. This is one of those places where splurging on a car and driver is probably wise as the park is difficult to reach with public transportation.

Cha am Nature Trail - Khao Nang Phanthurat , take a walk in the hills where you can see some of the local flora and fauna and get a great view over the coastline. small visitors centre near the car park, where you can get a copy of the route, and look at pictures of some of the wildlife in the area, Even if you don't want to walk up the hill, it's still worth a visit just to sit in the flower planted garden and take in the scenery. The trail itself has 3 and a half km of tracks, that take you up to a viewpoints over both the coast and inland, then down into valleys. At times you have to clamber over some rocky parts, but most of the time, steps have been cut out to help you up the hills.Along the way you can see tropical birds, butterflies and you will probably hear the strange call of a local troupe of Langurs ( monkeys ) who wander the hills feeding Directions 10 km away from Cha am beach. Leaving the beach, head up Narathip road and turn right, about 200 metres before the traffic lights, onto the road signposted to Puek Tian. Follow this road, past the hospital and over the draw bridge. At this point you can see the hills on your left, so just follow this road ( don't turn right to Puek Tian after the bridge). When you come to a T junction, turn left and just before you get into the hills, there is a crossroads, turn left here for a few hundred metres, then take a right into the park
Phetchaburi ( Phetburi ) is dominated by a hill known locally as Khao Wang. On top of this hill sits Phra Nakhon Khiri historic park, a collection of palace buildings and temples built in 1859 for King Rama IV.The hill itself has three peaks. The historic park is open every day from 08.30 to 17.30. The museum opens at 09.00 and closes at 16.00. Entrance to the park and museum is 40 Baht . Directions Phetchaburi is located 40 km North of Cha am, just off the main highway to Bangkok.There are two entrances to Phra Nakhon Khiri historic park.The main entrance is where you can get an electric tram up to the top of the hill ( 30 baht return ). This is located just off the main highway to Bangkok. The best way to get there is on any blue coloured bus bound for Bangkok ( 40 Baht ). Note that if you catch the Cha am - Bangkok bus you will stop for a "lunch break" for 20 minutes just before Phetburi, so it's best to catch any other Bangkok bound bus.
The second entrance is from the town side of the hill where you have to walk up. You can get here by catching an orange coloured non A/C bus ( 30 Baht ) which travels between Hua hin and Phetchaburi. This bus turns off the highway just past Big C and heads into town. You have to get off at the next T-junction after a couple of km. You will see the hill on your left and its a couple of hundred metres walk from here.

Huai Sai Wildlife Breeding Centre is small part of a much larger royally initiated conservation project in the Cha am area. For visitors, there is an area where you can see rare species of wildlife, including deer, birds and monkeys. Brown Antlered Deer and Hog Deer., birds, some wandering around and some kept in cages. Peacocks Hornbills, Parakeets, Brahminy Kites, Eagles, Kalij Pheasants and Golden Pheasants. Gibbons, Langurs and Macaques, either in cages or left to roam free on small islands Directions located 15 km from Cha am town. head south down the Cha am to Hua hin highway, past the two army camps, until you get to the 220 km marker ( these are distances from Bangkok either painted on the central kerb, or on small white blocks ). turn right. The entrance 4 km down this road on your left. open daily from 08.00 - 16.30 pm. Admission is free

Chaam fishing village a great place to eat freshly caught seafood, wander down the harbour in the early hours to see the fleet coming in with the catch of the night, or join the locals, and try and catch a few yourself, off the man made harbour walls that take you a few hundred meters out into the sea.
